A whole house updated for a new owner: structural opening in the basement, new bathrooms, tile, windows, floors and shingles. Everything but the kitchen sink.

The problem

The house had a new owner and had not been updated in many, many years. It did not match what she wanted from it. The basement was cut into small rooms and needed opening up so the space ran front to back. The bathrooms were badly dated. The kitchen cabinets were in good shape but everything around them needed work: countertops, grout, paint. The floors needed significant repair.

The solution

Structural opening up in the basement, new bathrooms, new tile, new windows and new shingles on the outside. The floors were repaired and refinished where that was the right call, carpet went into the basement and the foyer was tiled. Everything came out new except the proverbial kitchen sink and the cabinets, which were worth keeping.

That last part is worth noticing. Good cabinet boxes are worth keeping and we will tell you when yours are.
